SCOTLAND

  Edinburgh

3-22-2005
Our first impression of Edinburgh felt very gloomy.
The buildings were all massive and dark in color.
But it was a great city to walk and the castle was fun to visit.
We had a great tour guide, with an accent so thick, we hardly understood a word.
Castle lit at night
We found a couple good used book stores.
We got our exercise walking up and down the hills.
This is the famous Burke & Hare, but we missed the show.
St. Cuthbert's Funeral Grounds

Princes Street in Edinburgh
How did you get in there?

Princes Street again
Kevin wanted to by a Scottish Kilt.
This was a fun museum.

Glasgow

3-24-2005
Glasgow was a working city: not  a lot of tourists.
We had dinner at Waxy O'Connor's.
This bar was like a maze.
We placed our dinner order at the front on the first level.
Then they sent us on and told us, they would find us, when dinner was ready.
We wandered around and finally found a nice place to sit.
I don't think that we could even find our way back to the front.
But sure enough, they found us and brought our dinner.
Time to head back to the train station.
